Welcome to the Nigel Harris Sports Foundation

Nigel Harris Sports Foundation is looking to provide sporting activities or sponsorship to underprivileged children aged from 5 – 16 years old; who are often described as living on the margins of society. The Foundation is hoping to give the children the opportunity to participate in sporting activities with a view to potentially raising their self-esteem and aspirations, as well as, their fitness levels; as there is a link between deprivation, poor diet and lack of exercise and it is a known fact that ‘children living in deprived areas are substantially more likely to be obese’*

Children are our future and we believe that they all deserve opportunities to enable them to fulfil their potential and improve their life chances . If you share our beliefs and want to make a difference, we would welcome any support you are able to offer the Charity to support the opportunities and sponsorship we provide.

The Foundation is made up of 5 Trustees; Melanie Harris, Angela Nelson, Emily Nelson, Victoria Lynch and Jane Worrallo who each bring their own valuable experience and skills to the Charity. All of the Trustees work full time and manage the charity in their spare time. The Charity relies on a number of other people who help out behind the scenes and assist with events and we are grateful to everyone of them.

The Nigel Harris Sports Foundation is officially registered as a charity with the charity commission of England and Wales. Registration Number 1173034.
